Feel free to leave your confessions, everyone!
In recent years we’ve had (will have) a slew of talented pre-teen skaters from all around the world entering the senior circuit and outcompeting senior skaters. With their quads and PCS that controversially match more mature senior skaters, adolescent/adult skaters won’t stand a chance. Imagine if this trend had happened during the Mao Yuna Era. Junior skaters doing quads getting equal PCS as Mao and Yuna. Mao and Yuna would get nowhere. As figure skating evolves, I have the feeling the entire senior circuit will be filled with pre-teens that stay for a few years and are then replaced by another group of pre-teens. Do you think this will change the demographic of figure skating viewers? Will figure skating become a sport that children watch once adult figure skaters stop becoming stars in the senior circuit? Share your opinions!
Anyone else catch this on ESPNU? There is a figure skating portion and it seems to be scored on a 1-10 scale. Ashley Wagner, Mirai Nagasu, Alysia Liu are all competing.
Hey r/FigureSkating people,I’ve got two questions for y’all.why are there very few more heavy set figure skaters? andwhat skates would be the best investment? (currently learning crosscuts, and basic spins, as well as edges)
