Advice on backward one foot glide.

I an do a one foot glide fine, except when going backwards. No matter what I do I can’t seem to balance. My teacher has given me advice on how to balance but I still seem to have trouble. I also tend to end up on my toe, (not quite the pick tho, but close), tip forwards, and curve to the side.I guess I also could use some advice on balance in general. What is a good way to practice balancing?
