I’m new to figure skating and I’ve been having my skates sharpened about every 2-3 weeks (Skating about 3-4 days a week for 1-2 hours a day). I admit I bring my skates to the shop, pay, and take what they give me because I’m unaware really what to request/expect.My two main concerns: – I’ve noticed that the nicks in by blades are not always removed after sharpening. Is this normal/standard? – Primarily (The main thing that sparked me to look into this), I noticed my blade looks less hallow than what I ever recall it being in the past. I’m not sure if I, myself, just never noticed it or if it wasn’t sharpened the way they do it routinely. (Towards the left side/1 inch http://newtohockey.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/exagerated-skate-sharpening-hollows.jpg )I don’t want to go back to the shop and ask them if they did it wrong/etc because of my lack of knowledge/awareness.Does anyone have any REAL examples of the hollows I can look at? I tried googling and only get drawn references. I do not want to look at an exaggerated rendition.
