Is it me or do people in this sub seem to acquire skills really fast? I’ve read countless reports. I went from zero skills to doing a loop jump in 4 months. I’ve been serious skating for over two years. I took a ton of lessons as a kid, played some hockey, etc. I’ve been skating on and off all my life. I just turned 38. I’ve mastered most of the basic skills. My discipline is heavy geared toward ice dance. So I admit my desire to do jumps is small. I still take the learn to skate adult program (in my program, you top out at freestyle 6). I’ve watched many of skater and it seems to take months to master a major skill like a mohawk or a backward 3 turn.So am I crazy or does it seem unreasonable about these reports from going to zero to 60 in a few months.
